California: Microsoft has decided to shut down its popular website LinkedIn in China.۔

According to the BBC, Microsoft has announced the closure of LinkedIn in China, saying that it is becoming more and more difficult for them to implement the orders of the Chinese government. As a result, it has been decided to shut down the website in China. The Microsoft administration made the decision following government pressure to block the profiles of some journalists. However, the only version that provides jobs for the Chinese people, InJobs, will be introduced later this year.

“We are facing significant challenges from China in terms of compliance and the work environment,” LinkedIn Senior Vice President Sadat Mohik Sharoof wrote in his blog. But it is becoming more and more difficult for us to implement state policies.

LinkedIn is the only Western social media platform in China. Since its launch in 2014, LinkedIn has been following the rules set by the Chinese government. LinkedIn recently blacklisted several Chinese journalists on its platform, after which it has been facing accountability from the Chinese government.
